JJ was walking through the grounds of a Tudor manor house when the head gardener showed her to the estate's prize oak - over 300 years old and still dropping enormous acorns each autumn. "The family's been collecting the finest specimens for generations," he explained, rolling a particularly large one in his weathered palm. "They'd have them cast in bronze or carved from wood to remember each season." JJ loved how something so simple could carry such history, and when she found a craftsman creating oversized versions in rich brown tones, she knew they captured that same sense of natural heritage.
JJ places these statement acorns on console tables or grouped with pinecones and branches to create woodland vignettes that ground a room in natural warmth.
