Q: Does the lampshade come with a bulb?
A: No — bulbs are sold separately for every lampshade in the collection, so you'll need to fit your own. This is fairly standard for decorative shades and means you can choose the exact warmth and brightness you prefer.
Q: Will this shade fit my existing lamp base, or is it a specific fitting?
A: This lampshade comes with a reducer ring, making it suitable for both E27 and E14 fittings. The bulb is not included. It takes 1 × 60W maximum GLS bulb with an E27 (non-electric) fitting, using the reducer ring where needed.
Q: What size shade should I choose for my lamp base?
A: Our shades come in four sizes — Extra Small (15cm), Small (25cm), Medium (35cm), and Large (40cm). As a rough guide, a larger or heavier base calls for a wider shade for visual balance, while a smaller, more delicate base suits an Extra Small or Small shade better.
Q: What are the exact dimensions for each size?
A: Height and diameter by size:
Extra Small — H13.5 x Ø15cm
Small — H17 x Ø25cm
Medium — H25 x Ø35cm
Large — H29 x Ø40cm

Each plate is painted by hand. No two are exactly alike. Henri Matisse spent his winters in Nice, following the light south when the rest of France went grey. He sat at the edge of his bed in the Hôtel de la Méditerranée, watching the sun come in, picking up his brush. We think this is how he would have taken his lunch — plates full of colour, a table set with joy rather than formality. The Buds in May plates are our homage to that instinct. Hand-painted in rich, expressive glazes on shaped stoneware, each one carries the slight variations that come from being made by a single pair of hands. The brushwork is visible. The glaze catches the light differently depending on where the plate sits. That is not inconsistency — that is how you know it is real.
