Inspiration
The marbled, mottled design of the tortoise's shell is magical - but tragically, that beauty now puts the reptiles at risk. Poachers wanting to sell the shell has led the tortoise down a path of impending extinction. But if we've learned anything about tortoises, it's that they can win against the odds - just ask that humbled hare.
The artistry of tortoiseshell meant that, in 17th Century France, jewel cases and snuff boxes were closer to fine art than functional goods. But it has come at a great cost. Whilst we recognise the allure, we fully believe in animal conservation. That's why we're proud to offer the beauty of the design in a faux style. A tablespoon, a teaspoon, a knife and a fork, all with the magnificent style without hurting anything. The only thing at risk with these is your diet.
Care instructions: Dishwasher safe at a maximum temperature of 45°C, although we'd recommend washing by hand to maintain these for longer. Not suitable for microwave or oven.
