A chunky cut glass candlestick, as retro as they come. We think it looks like an expensive perfume bottle.

JJ chose this candlestick because it reminds her of that glamorous era of American opulence, and one iconic woman who represented it: Elizabeth Taylor, the ‘60s highest paid movie star, with jewellery and gemstones to match. JJ envisions these on the end table in a swanky modernist country lodge, while Taylor sips and smoulders in the lounge.

The good thing about the soft, pastelly colours on show on this piece: it looks great with a soft pastelly candle to match! A coloured candle has to be used right, but if you pull it off it will demonstrate that lots of thought and effort has gone into your interior, as well as adding detail and texture to the room.
